Learner Response

1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).

Sorry but this was incredibly hard to mark as you have made up loads of random facts and written them, showing a complete lack of understanding and no revision. Hard to see why you want to study my subject at GCSE if you are not taking it seriously. Your written English needs a lot of work to be GCSE standard.
Where you didn't achieve full marks, write WHY you think you missed out on the extra marks. Use the indicative content suggestions in the mark scheme to help with this.

2) Did you get any media terminology wrong in the assessment? Make a note of it here for future revision:

I did miss out some media terminology like connotation and denotation, media industry, music industry and news industry hopefully i can use these terms next time and make more sense to get a higher grade.

3) Look specifically at question 3 - did you successfully write about both the preferred and oppositional readings? Did your answers match any in the mark scheme?

No they did not because I did not know what I was writing and got confused so instead of leaving it blank I tried to do it and got 1 mar for it I think.

4) Re-draft your answer to Q3. Use the indicative content suggestions in the mark scheme to write a top-level answer on your blog.

The preferred reading of this advert would be that the woman feels presumptuous and looks like a strong woman who is not afraid to stand up for what is right. This is trying to convince other women to be confident as well and to stand up. When the woman rolls up her sleeve and tries to hold her muscles. This connotes that the woman is ready to work hard. When she is staring right at the camera it shows that she has mental strength as well as physical strength.
The oppositional reading of the advert would say that the woman is not strong and that she is acting in a way which men act and shouldn't be acting so tough. When the advert includes the use of others then it puts some pressure for the people reading the advert because they might be shy and not all woman think that she is right and that they should stand up because they might get abused by men or they might be afraid what others would think of them. It might also look threatening that she is showing her muscles and the look on her face could show shes intimidating and that she is dangerous.
